67th Odisha Police Duty Meet 2019 Concludes

Cuttack: The valedictory function of the 67th Odisha Police Duty Meet, 2019 was held at Reserve Police Ground here on Friday. Minister of State for Home Department, Dibyasankar Mishra presided over the meeting as the Chief Guest and took the ceremonial salute.

Mishra also gave away the trophies and prizes to the successful police officers and personnel who won different professional competitions.

Mishra said that Police Duty meet is an occasion which provides platform to participants to exhibit and enhance their investigating skill. It also provides an opportunity to show case their professional skill and talent in different field of investigation.

“Odisha Police has made its mark in different spheres of policing. Due to the continuous and sustained effort of officers and application of scientific technique in investigation there has been improvement in the conviction rate in the cases related to women and children,” said Mishra.

“The overall law and order situation in the state is peaceful. We have achieved immense success in the anti-Maoist operation. Police have promptly arrested culprits who were found guilty in the women related violence. Our Chief Minister has taken a number of steps to enhance the morale of police force. Police modernisation is the priority area of the CM. This is the best period for Odisha Police as the Chief Minister himself is in charge of Home Department,” Mishra added.

Speaking on the occasion, DGP BK Sharma highlighted the importance of Science and Technology in the investigation of cases. He called upon the investigating officers to adopt scientific methods of investigation in all forms of investigation including murder, theft and dacoity and advised that like ‘Red Flag’ cases, other cases should also be closely monitored to achieve conviction.

Kshetramohan Biswal Championship Shield was awarded to UPD, Cuttack as the Champion Team for securing highest marks in Scientific Aids to Investigation.

The State Police Runners-up Trophy in Scientific Aids to Investigation was awarded to CID, CB for securing 2nd highest mark in Scientific Aids to Investigation.

State Police Championship Shield in Scientific Aids to Investigation presented by SK Ghose was awarded to Mitali Madhulita Biswal of UPD, Cuttack for securing highest mark in Scientific Aids to Investigation Competition.

BK Panigrahi, Ex-DGP memorial cash award of Rs 10,000 was awarded to Sub-Inspector Mitali Madhulita Biswal of UPD, Cuttack for her overall performance in State police Duty Meet – 2019 and securing highest mark in Scientific Aids to Investigation Competition.

Cash award donated by Gobardhan Pattanaik was awarded to the Best Handler Constable Ranjan Kumar Behera of DDS, Cuttack.

Cash award of Rs 5000 declared by the DGP was awarded to ASI Mamtaz Alli of CID, CB for securing highest mark in Police Portrait & Observation Test.

Cash award of Rs5000 declared by the DGP was awarded to Ranjan Kumar Behera of K-9, Cuttack as Best Handler Constable.

Cash award of Rs 5000 donated by Sadananda Sinha, Ex-DGP was awarded to Sub-Inspector Sashi Bhusan Mishra of Malkangiri District for securing highest mark on the event ‘Cyber Crime & Technical Surveillance’.

Cash award of Rs10,000 was awarded to Inspector Banita Moharana of UPD, Bhubaneswar for securing Gold Medal in Medico Legal Test in 62nd All India Police Duty Meet-2018 held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
