Puri: As many as 675 dishes were offered to the deity Lord Krishna on the occasion of Byanjan Dwadashi today at the Gourabihar mutt in Odisha’s holy town Puri.
The occasion is celebrated amidst religious fervour in Srimandir and several other Mutts and temples across the pilgrim town.
At Gourahari Mutt here, the inmates were awake for the whole night on Wednesday and prepared several delicacies which were offered to Lord Krishna. Among the items, Anna, Dal, Rassa, Peetha, Saga, Chutney, Kheer, Mitha and a variety of sweetmeats, were special.
The seers, tourists and devotees thronged the Pilgrim Town to catch a glimpse of the Lord at the Mutt and relished on the delicious items after the Bhogas were offered. Among others, Tourism Minister, Jyotiprakash Panigrahi joined the devotees in celebrating the occasion at Puri today.
