5T Secretary Continues Review Of COVID-19 Hospital In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In continuation of his review of the progress of the country's largest COVID-19 Hospital in Odisha, Secretary Transformation and Initiatives (5T) VK Pandian accompanied by Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra visited SUM Hospital on Sunday.

The management of SUM Hospital is a party in the tripartite agreement signed with the State Government and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) on March 26 for establishing a 500 bedded hospital for coronavirus affected patients.

Pandian had yesterday visited Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) which has also signed another tripartitie agreement with the State Government and Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) to establish another 500 bedded hospital.

As a result the State Government will be readying 1000 bedded state-level hospitals in Bhubaneswar, which will be functional in a fortnight.

Principal Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment Saurabh Garg was also present during the review. SOA Founder Prof. Dr. Manojranjan Nayak briefed the officers about the progress.
