5T Impact: Odisha Govt Promotes 3,166 Employees In One Week

Bhubaneswar: The State Government promoted as many as 3,166 employees from 39 departments and 30 districts during the last week of December. These many number of promotions within a single week is a record.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had directed different departments to stick to the 5T model of governance and clear pending promotions of employees by December 31, 2019. Accordingly, between December 24 and 31, 852 employees in Group A, 527 employees in Group B, 1,496 employees in Group C and 291 employees in Group D were promoted.

During January to November 2019, 9,766 employees were prmoted by the State Government. Thereby, the total number of promotions in 2019 were 12,932. In district level, 3,139 employees were promoted during the same period.

The maximum number of promotions - 2,330, were given in the Home Department. 1,307 promotions in Agriculture Department and 1,251 employees were promoted in the Health Department.

Similarly, 748 employees were promoted in Cuttack district. 218 employees in Mayurbhanj and 194 employees in Ganjam district were promoted during this period.
