Sundergarh: Sending a clear message that there will be no compromise when it comes to ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme, Secretary to Chief Minister, Transformation and Initiatives (5T), VK Pandian on Sunday visited the District Headquarters Hospital, Sundergarh. And the result was that the CDMO-in-charge was suspended and a show-cause notice was issued to the Collector.
Pandian along with National Health Mission (NHM) Director Shalini Pandit and Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra today visited different wards of the hospital.
They began their inspection from the Mother-Child unit of the hospital. Here they interacted with admitted patients. Their next stop was the hospital pharmacy followed by other indoor wards. Pandian also visited the CT scan centre and interacted with departmental heads and other district-level officials.
Sometime later it came to fore that the Chief district Medical Officer-in-charge (CDMO) Dr Pankaj Patel has been suspended and a show-cause notice issued to the Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan by the State Government for lapses in implementing ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative in the hospital.
The 5T Secretary has been touring remote districts of Odisha since last four days. The senior officials are touring Government-run healthcare institutions to get grassroots-level feedback from the beneficiaries. 'Mo Sarkar' is an initiative of the State Government to ensure transparency in governance.
