45 Turtles Rescued From Traffickers In Odisha's Balasore, 3 Held

Balasore: Forty five turtles, being trafficked from Puri to West Bengal, were rescued by Railway Protection Force (RPF) from Rupsa Junction in Balasore on Saturday and three persons were detained in this connection.

Reportedly, three youths on board Puri -Howrah Passenger were trafficking the turtles from Sakhigopal in Puri to Dantan in West Bengal. On getting information, RPF personnel rescued the turtles at Rupsa Junction and detained the trio.

The detained youths were identified as Uttam Mandal, Ashok Paria and Anadi Samal, residents of Dantan in West Bengal. They along with the rescued turtles were later handed over to forest officials of Chandipur Wildlife Range.
