4 Puri Doctors Suspended For Dereliction Of Duty During FANI, CDMO Transferred

Puri: Dr Amarendra Nath Mohanty has been appointed as the new Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Puri district today. On the other hand, four doctors namely Jakesh Samantaray, Jahana Parwin, Jasmin Nilima Panda and Bapuji Nayak were suspended for dereliction of duty during Cyclone FANI.

The four assistant surgeons were reportedly absent in their place of posting during Cyclone FANI. Jakesh and Jahana were employed in Chilikanuapada Community Health Centre (CHC), Jasmin was working at Rebana Nuagaon CHC and Bapuji at Brahmagiri Primary Health Centre (PHC).

Their suspension order was issued by Health and Family Welfare Department.

In the meantime, changes have been made in the cadre of Odisha Medical and Health Services (OMHS). Former Puri CDMO Dr Ramchandra Rout has been transferred to Directorate of Health Services, Angul CDMO Dr Amarendra Nath Mohanty has been appointed Puri CDMO and Dr Basanta Mishra is the new Health Officer Incharge of BMC.
