4 Dead, 1 Missing In Separate Drowning Incidents In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: At least four persons were killed and one went missing in three separate drowning incidents in Odisha.

One among two sisters died and another went missing after both drowned while taking a bath in Baitarani river near Goudadiha village in Kodapada panchayat under Anandpur block of Keonjhar district today.

Similarly, a youth drowned to death during swimming practice in a pond at Sulan village under Nandipada police limits of Keonjhar.

Bodies of an old man and his grandson were recovered from a pond at Rebadi village under Sinapali block of Nuapada district today.

As per family members, Kapurchan Punji (75) and his grandson Bablu Punji (4) had gone to take a bath at the village pond yesterday afternoon, but went missing without any trace.

Today morning, their bodies were found floating in the pond. Sinapali police seized the bodies and sent it for post-mortem.

A girl being swept out to sea, while taking a bath along with her family, in Puri was saved by a lifeguard today morning. After preliminary treatment she was rushed to Puri hospital and is reportedly out of danger.
