Bhubaneswar: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the construction of third railway line between Narayangarh in West Bengal and Bhadrak in Odisha here. With a length of 155 kilometres, the line will be built at a the total estimated cost of over one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six crore rupees (Rs 1,866.31 crore).
The project is set to be completed by 2023-24 and will help in generating direct employment for about 37 lakh man-days.
A PIB release stated, the capacity utilisation on Narayangarh and Bhadrak section is 138%. The third line will help reduce this congestion in the route. It will also help generate additional optimum capacity to cope up with the existing as well as additional traffic, the release stated.
