3 Women Killed In Lightning Strikes Across Odisha

Koraput/Mayurbhanj: As many as three women were killed after lightning struck them in Koraput and Mayurbhanj districts of Odisha on Sunday night.

In Narayanpatna area of Koraput, two sister-in-laws Mari Radha (32) and Mari Sune (25), died due to the lightning strike when they were working in a farm. Three others, including a child, were critically injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment in Narayanpatna hospital.

Similarly in Mayurbhanj, one Parbati Gagrai of Salaibedi village was killed in lightning strike while she was collecting wood fuel.

It is notable to mention here that the Regional Meteorological Department had predicted Norwester rains accompanied by thundersquall and lightning in various parts of Odisha on Sunday evening.
