Snake Bite Claims 4 Victims Across Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A day after six people were reported to have been killed due to snake bite across the State, news of four more deaths has come to fore on Tuesday. While three of the deceased are from Nuagaon Police Station limits in Kandhamal district; one is from Soro in Balasore district.

A mother-son duo from Puruna Nuagaon village succumbed to snakebite on late Monday. While six-year-old Aditya immediately passed away, his mother Rajalaxmi Malik passed away later at Phulbani hospital. Another person from Bichanadahi village too died to snake bite today.

From Balasore, +2 1st year student Madhabanand Marandi (17) was bitten by a serpent at Jagamba village under Oupada block late last night. Son of retired Police officer Rapeyi Marandi, he was rushed to Soro Hospital in a very critical state. However, the doctor declared him brought dead.
