Subarnapur: A staggering 25 sheep were killed in a single night at Kumursingha village of Birmaharajpur block of Subarnapur district.

The deaths were discovered today early morning by the sheep’s owner Kapil Maharuk. He also said that an additional 27 sheep were in a critical condition.

Kapil claimed that he had checked the sheep’s pen last night and they were all safely inside. Today morning when he came to check on them, he discovered 25 of them dead and another 27 injured.

The villagers suspect this to be the work of some predatory animal. A sense of fear has gripped the village.

Today’s incident brings back the memory of the horrific series of incidents in 2017, where a ‘mysterious animal’ killed a number of sheep in Niali area of Cuttack incident. Over 50 deaths were recorded at that time.
