Bhubaneswar: If things go according to the plan, then Bhubaneswar may get to host the 2032 Summer Olympics!
Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) Narinder Batra said to a leading newspaper that if India has to bid for the 2032 Olympics, then the target should be 25 medals at 2024 and 35-40 medals by 2028. Otherwise, bidding will not be allowed.
“Mumbai and Delhi are likely choices. We can even have it in Bengaluru. The only pre-condition is that a city has to have an international airport. Bhubaneswar too may be considered as it is called the sports capital of India. That (the final decision) we will it leave for later," he added.
The winning bid is to be announced in 2025 at the 140th session of International Olympic Committee.
