Bhubaneswar: For the first time in Odisha, three train rakes with a length of nearly 2000-metre commissioned by East Coast Railways (ECoR) ran on an experimental basis in a view to providing less manpower and economic path utilisation. The train ran between Godbhaga and Bolangir stations in Sambalpur Railway Division.
The train consisting of 147 Wagons, 3 Brake/Guard Vans and 4 Engines was planned to run on experimental basis between Godbhaga and Bolangir Stations in Sambalpur Railway Division. After Balangir, the train went up to Sikir Railway Station near Titilagarh Railway Station. So, in effect, the train covered a total of 145 KMs distance. The first rake of 45 Flat Wagons was loaded with containers and the second and third empty rakes of 51 Alumina Containers each are going towards Visakhapatnam Port.
Running of this train on experimental basis has utilised less manpower, run on a single Signal and Single Closure of Level Crossings.
