Bhubaneswar: As announced earlier, 12.45 lakh beneficiaries of the first phase under Odisha Government's “KALIA” scheme will get their money credited directly to their respective bank accounts on January 26 while the scheme will be launched in Puri tomorrow by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Informing media, Odisha Cooperation Commissioner-cum-Secretary Krishan Kumar said, “About 12.45 lakh ‘KALIA’ beneficiaries from all the districts have been enlisted at the State level here. Funds will be remitted through DBT to these 12.45 lakh farmers tomorrow soon after the launch made by Hon’ble Chief Minister at Puri.”

He further informed, “About 65 lakh had applied through Green Form. The applicants included landless, small and marginal farmers. The Draft Beneficiary List will be published at all panchayat offices from January 25 to February 3 for public notice. In case of any objections, suggestions or passing on information, the people can give. The same process was adopted in the first phase from January 2 to 10 at the panchayat level. Apart from the first phase 12.5 lakh farmers, rest of the beneficiaries will also be selected. All data entries have been completed.”

He added, “When the second phase process will end by February 10, we’ll publish the final list for it thereafter.”

“List of about 21.5 lakh ‘KALIA’ beneficiaries from the panchayat level was made for the first phase. Out of this list, 12.45 lakh beneficiaries will be entitled to reap the benefits for now. Incomplete information of rest of the applicants is available with us. We need additional information. Hence, they have been included in the second list. They have to provide us again complete information,” the Cooperation Commissioner-cum-Secretary stated.
