129 Critical, 6 Vulnerable Booths In Bijepur Assembly Constituency, Says Collector

Bargarh: Bijepur Assembly constituency has 2,32,264 voters as per the final count out of which 1,20,135 are male, 1,12,114 are female and 15 are from the others category which includes 209 service voters, informed Bargarh Collector Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan addressing a presser here today.

Pradhan stated that the constituency has 285 polling stations out of which six have been categorized as vulnerable, 129 have been declared as critical and the remaining 243 are normal polling stations.

The Collector said that there are 2,750 (PwDs) persons with disability voters in Bijepur Assembly constituency and adding wheelchairs have been provided with two volunteers in each and in every booth for the convenience of these voters.

In addition to this 2371 Vahan passes have been issued and dummy Braille ballot sheets have been provided for the visually impaired voters, he said.

Giving details of the force multipliers deployed in the booths the Collector said that 28 booths will have webcasting, 14 will have CCTV, 16 will have videography facilities and 77 will have micro observers.

Polling for bye-election to the Bijepur Assembly constituency is scheduled to be held on October 21 between 7.00 AM to 5.00 PM and counting of votes will take place on October 24.

The by-poll was necessitated since Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who had contested and won from two seats Hinjili and Bijepur retained Hinjili and vacated Bijepur.
