Cuttack: A 122 kilogram cake, symbolizing the 122nd birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, was cut at a massive rally organised by Purvanchal Janta Party (Secular) at the historic Balijatra Ground in Cuttack on Wednesday.

Thousands of admirers and the party's fellowmen were present at the venue ground. The entire crowd gave warm salute with standing ovation to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the greatest freedom fighter in the Indian subcontinent. The entire atmosphere at the venue was euphoric and people exchanged their greetings to each other on this auspicious occasion.

PJP (Secular) has acknowledged Netaji as the 'Prophet of Freedom and National Courage'.

Speaking on this occasion, National President of the party lamented the overall treatment meted out to the Martyrs and Freedom Fighters, in particular Netaji, by the successive Governments at Centre as well as the concerned States like Odisha, West Bengal, etc.

He further said that invoking the principle of compassionate governance of Netaji can unite the countrymen with a common thread of Nationalism/Patriotism.

The president of State Women Cell of PJP (Secular), Meenakshi Das reminded people about the glorious past of the women in Odisha and how they excelled in each walk of life during the freedom struggle against the Britishers.
