10 Pairs Of Trains Now Running On Electric Traction In Jharsuguda–Sambalpur-Angul Section Of ECoR

Bhubaneswar: Ten pairs of trains including nine pair of Express Trains and one pair of Passenger Trains are now running on Electric Traction after completion and commissioning of the traction in Jharsuguda–Sambalpur-Angul Railway Section of East Coast Railway (ECoR).

The trains are Sambalpur-Howrah-Sambalpur Weekly Super Fast Express (22804/22803), Bhubaneswar-Anand Vihar Terminal-Bhubaneswar Weekly S/F Express (22805/22806), Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express (20817/20818) via Sambalpur, Bokaro Steel City-Bhubaneswar-Bokaro Steel City Garib Rath (12831/12832) Tri-weekly Express, Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Intercity Express (22839/22840), Bikaner-Puri-Bikaner Weekly Express (14709/14710), Lokmanyatilak-Bhubaneswar- Lokmanyatilak Bi-weekly Express (12879/12880), Lokmanyatilak-Puri-Lokmanyatilak Weekly Express (22865/22866), Jodhpur-Puri-Jodhpur Weekly Express (20814/20813) and Rourkela-Puri-Rourkela Passenger (58131/58132).

It is worthwhile to mention that electric locomotives are pollution free, energy efficient, environmental friendly and will save diesel. Sambalpur Division is going for mass electrification and very soon all the trains in the division will be run with electric locomotives in electric traction.
