Father, Son Killed As Two-Wheeler Falls Off Flyover In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A tragic incident occurred near Acharya Vihar on Monday, where a two wheeler crashed into the parapet of a flyover, leaving a father-son duo dead. According to sources, the duo's bike was hit from behind by a speeding vehicle.

The deceased have been identified as Gangadhar Maharana and his son Laxman Maharana of Nayagarh. Reportedly, the both were on their way to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as Gangadhar had suffered from a minor heart episode.

The duo was traveling on a bike bearing registration number OD-25H-6460 when the two-wheeler fell off from the flyover, 30ft below onto the adjoining road. The father was killed on the spot while the son sustained grievous injuries.

On intimation, cops reached the spot on time and rushed the injured to the hospital. However, Laxman succumbed to his injuries during treatment. A probe has been initiated into the matter and more details are yet to be disclosed.
