'Water Treatment Sector Needs Skilled Men'

Bhubaneswar: Water being a critical resource in the planet, it is essential to have skilled men in the water treatment sector.

“"Water is a critical resource in the planet so it is important that we have skilled jobs in the water treatment sector. The skill is related to operation of water treatment plant,” opined S Aswatha Narayana, on his arrival here today.  

Notably, Narayana created history by becoming the first Indian to win gold at World Skills competition in Kazan city of Russia on Tuesday for water technology.

“It’s important because in near future we are going to run out of potable water. Hence skill in water technology to which water treatment sector is related and the skill is related to operation of water treatment plants,” he added.

Narayana said that water technology is the new buzz and very soon more and more people will be thinking about it while adding that when industry comes forward things happen.

On being asked about his feeling on winning the medal, Narayana said “Winning the medal for India is a proud privilege I would say. Everyone is happy; I didn’t think that this would be this big. It was a great learning experience”.

Lastly, Narayana thanked all especially the people of Odisha for their support to him.

Worth mentioning, Narayana is a B Tech graduate in Applied electronics from CV Raman Engineering College of Bhubaneswar. He comes from a humble background and his father is a private tutor.
