Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said that the spiritual awakening of India by Swami Vivekananda was a booster to the freedom movement.
"The spiritual awakening of India by Swamiji was a great booster to the freedom movement which was later carried out by Mahatma Gandhi. For any achievement in life, the journey starts with our spiritual awakening," said Patnaik taking part in the Centenary Celebration of Ramakrishna Matha and Mission here.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Shree Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda had together initiated an era of spirituality based on humanity and service.
He stated that the Ramakrishna Matha and Mission centre in Bhubaneswar has truly become one of the important spiritual centres of the city.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the Mission's library here is one of the oldest libraries of the city and has been catering to the needs of many students, researchers and knowledge seekers for many many years.
Wishing the event a great success, Patnaik said, “I am privileged to be here today to attend the Centenary Celebration of Ramakrishna Matha and Mission in Bhubaneswar".
