Bhubaneswar: As the Central Government has implemented ‘One Nation One Ration’ so that the beneficiaries of National Food Security Act (NFSA) can now avail subsidized food items from the State-run food supplies outlets, Odisha Government has also geared up to implement it from September 1 this year.

This was informed today by Odisha Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain here.

Talking to media, the Minister said that the State Government is going to begin it as pilot project from September 1 in the jurisdiction of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). Gradually it will be implemented at all places across the State.

He further informed that it will also be implemented for Odisha’s own State Food Security Scheme (SFSS).

In his media reactions, the Minister said, “The pilot project we are going to launch in Bhubaneswar. Gradually this One Nation One Card initiative will be expanded to all the places. As we can use the ATM card and draw money from any ATM in our country, this system has also been envisaged.”

“For the first time we are going to introduce in Odisha and the pilot project from Bhubaneswar. The portability is the choice of the beneficiary,” remarked the Minister.
