Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Monday appealed the Nabanirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS) to withhold its strike on February 21 in view of the upcoming matric examinations.
In a letter issued by the Home Department, the Government has pointed out that the matric examinations will start from February 22 and end on March 8.
About six lakh students, parents, teachers, and school staffers would commute to the examination centres on February 22.
As per sources, the NKS' Odisha bandh would affect the movement of vehicles, trains, government offices and educational institutions.
"Keeping the interests of the students in mind, the State Government requestss the Nabanirman Krushak Sangathan to cancel the bandh called on February 21," the letter stated.
