'Mo Sarkar': 5T Secretary & CS Have Lunch At Aahar Centre, Tour Hospitals In Boudh & Kandhamal

Bhubaneswar: In order to examine the proper implementation of various welfare schemes of the State Government under the 5T initiatives of ‘Mo Sarkar’, for the first time several senior IAS officers had their surprise lunch at Boudh Aahar Centre.

Secretary to Chief Minister, Transformation and Initiatives (5T), VK Pandian and Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Friday accompanied by National Health Mission (NHM) Director Shalini Pandit suddenly visited the Aahar Centre at Boudh and like any other ordinary citizen after paying the bill had their meals. The bills were footed by the Chief Secretary.

They enquired about the quality and quantity of the food served and about the cleanliness at the Aahar Centre from people having their lunch at the centre to which they got a positive response.

Earlier, the trio visited different wards of the district headquarters hospitals in Boudh and Kandhamal districts to assess the status of Government healthcare facilities.

They interacted with the patients and their relatives at the hospital and enquired about the facilities. The senior officials held brief meetings with district administration officials and doctors during the tour. The visit was a part of ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on October 2.

The senior officials are touring Government-run healthcare institutions to get grassroots-level feedback from the beneficiaries.

On Thursday, Pandian and Pandit had toured Rayagada, Nuapada and Kalahandi districts.

Besides, on Wednesday Pandian, Pandit and Finance Secretary Ashok Meena were on a tour to Koraput, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri with the same mission.

'Mo Sarkar' is an initiative of the State Government to ensure transparency in governance. Under the new initiative, the Chief Minister and other ministers will call common citizens to seek their feedback on the kind of response and service they received when they visited the government facilities.
