Bhubaneswar: As Odisha Government has fully geared up for its flagship biennial global investors' summit “Make in Odisha Conclave 2018” being organized in Bhubaneswar from November 11-15, the Conclave is going to be a watershed moment in Odisha's industrialization journey and at a scale that has not been seen before in the State as the response from investor community has been very encouraging.

This was informed by Odisha Industries Minister Ananta Das and Industries Secretary Sanjeev Chopra at a press meet here prior to the kickstart of the juggernaut.

Briefing media, the Industries Minister said, “Personally we had invited all the heads of the business community. Most of them are also attending the Conclave here. Perhaps it is going to be the biggest ever business event in the country.”

“150 experts from India and outside India like America, France etc, will deliberate on 15 subjects and departments including Higher Education apart from the industry matter. Each Minister and departmental Secretary will be present at the individual discussion. Thus, there will be an exchange of idea,” he stated remarking, “Now the entire world has become a global village.”

The Industries Secretary informed, “The unique thing about this particular conclave is that not only are we covering the hardcore industry sector like food processing, textile, apparel or chemical and petro chemicals, but we’re trying to take a holistic and overall view of Odisha’s economy. Broad idea is that we should be covering holistically the entire economic sector of the State.”

“Secondly, the objective of the conclave is not only to get investments, also to showcase the State in its entirety. Outside Odisha the people lack the desired idea on Odisha. There is a lot of information gap. There is a lot of misconception. There is a lot of misunderstanding about the State,” he stated.

Responding to a media query, the Odisha Industries Secretary said, “During our last conclave, 124 proposals had come in different sectors worth about Rs 2 lakh crores.
