Cuttack: Putting a rest to the speculations that Nila Madhab Panda's first Odia feature film 'Biju Babu' is politically oriented to garner votes for Biju Janata Dal (BJD), actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty on Friday asked the public not to believe in such rumours.

Briefing mediapersons after premiere of the movie at Brundaban Talkies in Cuttack, Anubhav said, "Biju Babu is not confined within a political party. He is a statesman and a legend who is being loved and respected by every political party, therefore please don't believe in such rumours as the film has no political links."

On being asked whether the release of the film during the elections is a pre-planned strategy, Anubhav denied it stating the producers of the movie had set a target to release the movie on Utkal Divas as it is the appropriate time to release a film based on the ideologies of Kalinga Putra Biju Patnaik.

Anubhav further informed that the film is not a biopic, but is based on the ideologies of Biju Babu. Nowadays, the major issue across country is fake news, which is a cause of mass murder, suicides and waywardness among youths. The film attempts to show how Biju Babu would have guided the youths if he had been alive now.
