Odisha: Vehicles Over 15 Years Not To Be Scrapped, Says STA

Bhubaneswar:  In a major relief to vehicle owners, the State Transport Authority (STA) of Odisha informed that there will be no scrapping of vehicles which are more than 15 years old.

“At present there is no policy to scrap vehicles more than 15 years old; RC of 15-year-old non-transport vehicles can be renewed at RTO offices; registration of transport vehicles will remain valid as long as their fitness certificate is valid,” the STA informed through a tweet.

The validity of registration for non-transport vehicle is 15 year from its date of registration and also renewable. The owners of 15 year old non transport vehicle can renew the RC at RTO office. The validity of registration of transport vehicle is valid as long as its certificate is valid. The Fitness certificate is also renewable, the STA added.
