Rourkela: A joint team of CRPF and district Police today seized a large cache of explosives hidden underground in Purunapani and Roxi forest reserve under K Bolan police limits.

On the basis of an intelligence tip-off the district SP setup a joint team which conducted a raid in the aforesaid areas. Two tiffin bombs, 22 kilograms of IED and other explosives materials were recovered.

The combing and search operation lasted for more than 10 hours. All the materials recovered from the area was destroyed. Two weeks back a same quantity of explosive was recovered from the area.

According the to the CRPF Commandant, the Maoists are targeting the security forces and impact the upcoming elections.
