Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated members of the Odisha contingent which was crowned champion at Hausla-2019, a national level competition for the inmates of Child Care Institutions (CCIs) held in New Delhi recently.
The Odisha contingent by winning 30 medals-14 Gold, 12 Silver and 4 Bronze at the competition was adjudged the champion.
Apart from expressing his happiness over the State contingent being crowned champions at Hausla-2019, the Chief Minister presented plaques and cash prizes to the medalists at a ceremony held at the Kalinga Stadium here, said an official press release issued today.
While Gold medalists were given a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each by the Chief Minister, those who won Silver medals got Rs 30,000 each and Bronze medalists got Rs 20,000 each.
This is for the second consecutive year Odisha contingent has been crowned champion at Hausla. The State contingent had won 23 medals last year at the event.
Worthwhile to mention here that these inmates of CCIs have been provided due support and guidance by the State W&CD and Mission Shakti department.
