Bhubaneswar: Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, who was admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital with a colon infection, has died.
Yesterday he was take to intensive care unit and his official spokesperson has confirmed this news now that he is no more. He is survived by his wife Sutapa and two sons.
Irrfan Khan was battling a tumour for several months and underwent treatment in London. He had returned to Mumbai few months back and had been under medical attention.
Irrfan's mother Saeeda Begum had breathed her last on Saturday in Jaipur where she used to stay. However, owing to the ongoing lockdown, the actor could not physically attend his mother's last rites and reportedly paid his last respect through video conferencing.
Globally, Irrfan has worked in several international projects such as The Warrior (2001), The Namesake (2006), The Darjeeling Limited (2007), the Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire (2008), New York, I Love You (2009), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Life of Pi (2012), Jurassic World (2015) and Inferno (2016).
